1 Corinthains 2:14
The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
Today is April fools day and it is today that I have realized that I am a fool for Christ! I am not a fool just one day a year in April, but every day I submit to being a fool for Christ. The world see’s the things of God as foolishness, but they are spiritually discerned. They do not have the holy spirit – so God, the spirit of God and those who follow God all appear foolish to the world. The world believes I am a fool for Christ and I embrace that. I will gladly be considered a fool for my God and King.
We live in a day and age where men rely on their own wisdom; and why not? the world has come so far! It has made incredible advances in science and technology. It has telescopes that can gaze farther and farther into the universe and microscopes that can observe deeper and deeper inside the atom. It has developed vehicles of transportation – cars, ships, planes, trains and space shuttles – that can take us around the world in hours. Medicine has brought the world cures and procedures for ailments once thought incurable. The world is enlightened! The world today is much more advanced than the ancient cultures that wrote the bible and “invented” God! So why should the world accept Him? After all, the world has all this wisdom that it has attained, there is no room for foolish things such as God. He is simply foolishness to a world that relies on it’s own wisdom.
1 Corinthians 1:27
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
In my foolishness God is glorified – In my weakness God displays his strength! As long as I cling to the worlds wisdom I cannot bring glory to God. As long as I rely on my own strength, Gods strength cannot be displayed in me. It is not until I become weak, and not until I become a fool that God can use me. So join me and become a fool for Christ!
