In March of 2011 I wrote a message to homosexuals – Urgent Message to ALL Homosexuals (Click this link to read it)
In light of all that is going on in recent weeks I believe it’s important to revisit this message.
I would also like to apologize on behalf of the true church. As ambassadors of Jesus Christ we are called to represent Him and His love and we have failed – I have failed; and because of our failures we have gotten ourselves into a standoff where neither side wants to lower the gun. Neither side wants to stop pointing the finger. Neither side wants to take responsibility.
Let me be the first to lower my gun, let me be the first to stop pointing my finger and let me be the first to take responsibility. If the church has failed then I have failed and I am deeply sorry for the hatred the homosexual community feels from the church.
“…Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.”
WHOEVER is thirsty, come. Whoever wants the free gift of the water of life, let them come! These are the words of Jesus and they are all inclusive! He did not say “Whoever wants the free gift…except homosexuals, come!” No! He said WHOEVER wishes. Unfortunately there are many that call themselves Christians but they do not offer the same loving acceptance. They would rather spew hate and condemnation; These people in reality are acting as roadblocks instead of ambassadors. These types of “Christians” are living as stumbling stones trying to trip up those who genuinely seek God. I won’t let myself be a roadblock or a stumbling stone. I refuse to put myself in the way of anyone who is seeking God; Rather, I choose to be an ambassador of the true love of Christ.
Let me confess something. I am only human and I have absolutely no authority to judge anyone. In my life I have told lies, stolen, been filled with rage, had sex with random women, been drunk and the list goes on. I’ve rejected God on countless occasions for the whims of my rebellious heart and I’ve been depressed to the point of wanting to take my own life. It’s by the pure mercy of God that I am alive today.
I invite everyone, especially homosexuals to take my hand. I’ll show you the One who freely accepts all and offers living water. I’ll show you the love of the One who died so that we could be saved. I’ll show you the One who rescued me from myself.
God loves you and don’t let anyone tell you different. Come take the free gift of the water of life. No strings attached.
