11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:
KING OF KINGS AND
LORD OF LORDS.
This is not symbolic. This is not allegory. This is not a fairy-tale. This IS a promise from God that will faithfully come to pass.
One day the skies will part and flee, and the heavens will open – there will stand the King of kings! His hair will be white as wool and His eyes will be as flames of fire; His robe will be covered in blood and on His head will be many crowns.
Riding a white horse and followed by His bride and all the angelic armies of heaven, the King will descend to earth, surrounded by His shekinah glory! What a fantastic image! The world is so accustomed to ‘business as usual’ that a prophecy such as this sounds more like a fantasy novel – but this is the truth from the Word of God.
When Jesus first came to this earth, He had forsaken all His Kingly and Godly rights and privileges so that He could live as a man and die as a sacrifice to redeem all humankind. However there is coming a day, when this very same Jesus will return to the earth in all His power and glory and He is coming to judge and make war in order to take what is rightfully His – the earth. The King will conquer His enemies by the power of His word, which is truth and proceeds from His mouth like a sword.
Such a dramatic return is necessary to break the world from it’s chains of unbelief and to set up His kingdom on the rubble of the old world. The world mocks us now, but when they look up to see Him in the clouds, they will mourn.
Look up, because our King is coming soon!
